This is my introduction for a new series I’m working on with my sister, titled “She Is.” The goal of this series is to celebrate black femininity and black beauty across the African diaspora. Each portrait will exemplify a unique and individual take on beauty, along with challenging Eurocentric beauty standers and gender norms. My goal is to inspire black women, and encourage us to believe that we are beautiful BECAUSE of their skin. Not in spite of it. ✊🏿
