While creating this pice, I was in an extremely frustrated state of mind. I was frustrated with the lack of representation of women of color in the media... The woman in this image symbolizes power, grace, and beauty. The world we live in looks down upon black women. Even by black MEN. The racism that black women face is often sexiest, and the sexism that they face is often racist. They don't face the two separately. But even through the darkness, black women stay strong, with there heads held high, for they know their worth. Black women are as precious as the most pure of gold. Recognize a REAL queen when you see one...
